Wedding Dress Cleaning & Preservation

Wedding Dress Cleaning & Preservation on the Gold Coast

Hand-finished cleaning for gowns of every era. Stain removal, beadwork inspection, and optional acid-free preservation boxing. Over 50 years of specialist experience.

Our process

Every gown we receive is treated as a one-off. Before any cleaning begins, we inspect the dress for stains, fabric condition, beadwork, lace and trim attachment, and any signs of earlier repairs.

  1. 1
    Detailed inspection
Check stains (wine, makeup, grass, hem dirt), beadwork, lace attachment, lining condition. We tell you what we see before we start.
  2. 2
    Spot treatment
Stains are treated by hand before the dress goes into the main cleaning process, using agents appropriate for the fabric.
  3. 3
    Hand-finished clean
Cleaning method selected based on fabric — silk, tulle, satin, lace all handled differently. Gowns with significant beadwork are cleaned on our most gentle cycle.
  4. 4
    Final press and presentation
Hand-pressed, bagged on a padded hanger, ready for wear or preservation boxing.

Preservation boxing

After cleaning, you can choose to have your gown preserved in an acid-free box for long-term storage.

Why acid-free matters: ordinary cardboard and tissue paper release acids over time that yellow and weaken fabric — especially silk and satin. Acid-free materials prevent this, keeping the dress wearable or display-ready for decades.

Preservation boxing is available as an add-on when you book the cleaning. Call for current pricing.

When to clean your dress

As soon as possible after the wedding. Champagne, wine, sweat, makeup and grass stains all set with time and heat. A stain that's easy to lift in the first two weeks can be permanent six months later.

Bring the dress in whenever you can — the sooner the better, but we work on gowns of every era including dresses cleaned and stored decades ago.

What we handle

Modern gowns

Silk, satin, tulle, organza, lace, crepe, chiffon. Detailed beadwork, sequins, pearls.

Vintage and heirloom dresses

Dresses from previous decades or family heirlooms — inspected and handled with care appropriate to their age.

Veils and accessories

Veils, detachable trains, belts, bolero jackets — cleaned alongside or independently.

Post-preservation check

If you have a preserved gown you'd like inspected before your own daughter's wedding or a display, we can open, check and re-preserve.

Frequently asked

How much does wedding dress cleaning cost?

Pricing depends on fabric, detailing and the extent of staining. Preservation boxing is an additional add-on. Call for a personalised quote — we'll look at the dress and give a firm price before any work starts.

How long does it take?

Typical turnaround is 2–3 weeks for cleaning, or 3–4 weeks if preservation boxing is included. Rush service may be available — ask when you book.

Can you remove old stains from a dress stored for years?

Sometimes, yes. Success depends on the stain type, fabric, and how it was stored. We inspect and assess, and tell you honestly what we think we can achieve before starting.

Do you offer pickup and delivery?

Yes — pickup and delivery available across the Gold Coast on request. Call to arrange or book online.

I'm getting married soon — can you advise in advance?

Yes. Come in for a consultation before the wedding. We can look at the gown, suggest how to protect it on the day, and line up post-wedding cleaning and preservation so you don't have to think about it later.
