Customer Notice

Neweys Runaway Bay & Nind Street Southport — temporarily closed.

Gold Coast Dry Cleaning Specialists (GCDC) has been the dry clean processor for both stores and is coordinating the safe return of all customer garments. Please do not attend the Neweys stores — they are closed. We will SMS you directly once your items are ready for collection.

The return process

Five steps from store closure to your items in your hands.

1
Stocktake complete

A full physical stocktake of all customer garments held at our GCDC facility has been completed. Each item is inventoried in our system across three categories: not yet cleaned, partially cleaned, currently in cleaning.

2
Retrieval from the stores Runaway Bay complete · Nind Street pending

2025–2026 garments have been retrieved from the Runaway Bay store and transferred to GCDC. Retrieval from Nind Street Southport is pending landlord consent. We will commence retrieval as soon as access is granted, and a full inventory record will be maintained.

3
Consolidation and completion in progress

All retrieved customer garments are being consolidated at GCDC. Each item is sorted, recorded and shelved in an orderly system — like a library cataloguing books — so every garment can be located, matched to its docket, and prepared for collection. Any outstanding cleaning is completed at the original price.

Because of the volume involved, this requires time. Releasing items before this process is complete would risk misallocation, which we are determined to avoid.

4
SMS notification

Once your order is ready, we will SMS the phone number on your original Neweys docket. If your number has changed, please use the customer enquiry form above to update your record.

5
Collection

Collect at whichever GCDC location is more convenient. Bring your original Neweys docket — or your mobile number if the docket is lost. Any unpaid balance from your original order is payable on collection. Pricing is unchanged — no handling or consolidation fee.

Important — scope and limitations

Please read this section carefully. It explains what GCDC can and cannot do as the dry clean processor for the closed Neweys stores.

Garments still inside Nind Street Southport.

Completed garments remain inside the Nind Street store and cannot be retrieved until landlord consent is granted. Once access is obtained, every item will be inventoried and logged.

Items lost before 23 April 2026 are outside our control.

GCDC first became aware of the store closures on 23 April 2026. Any garments removed, misplaced or damaged at the Neweys stores before our involvement may not be within GCDC's control. We commit to retrieving and returning everything that is accessible to us from that date onward.

Store access depends on landlord consent.

Entry to the Nind Street Southport premises requires consent from the landlord. GCDC has no independent right of entry. Retrieval cannot commence until consent is granted, so we cannot guarantee a specific date.

GCDC will not station staff at the closed Neweys stores.

All customer collections take place at GCDC Bundall HQ or Hope Island once items are consolidated. We are unable to place staff at Nind Street Southport or Runaway Bay to hand items to customers there.

GCDC's responsibility is limited to the GCDC–customer service relationship.

GCDC can retrieve, complete and return your garments — these are the services GCDC has performed as the dry clean processor for Neweys. Refunds of payments previously made to Neweys, store-credit balances, and chargeback enquiries arise from the customer's separate relationship with Neweys, sit outside the GCDC–customer relationship, and must be directed to the appointed representatives.
